BE THE CHANGE
Change for good in life. Small steps taken by an individual becomes footprints for others to walk. Every individual must understand its level in the society.
Whatever change that is brought by an individual is for oneself. None will be favored by it except for the individual himself. Every action that is performed if assumed to be done for the favor of an individual will ultimately benefit the whole society.
In words of M K Gandhi, ‘be the change you want to see in the world’.
People always complain about the society in peril but are least concerned about changing it.
We all love superheroes. We get mesmerized by the super powers of our superheroes. But in reality, there is no Batman or Captain America living by the next door to rise against the injustice that is persistent in our society. People think that change is brought only by some special being, one with miraculous powers but they tend to forget that special powers lies within the individual and it can be achieved only when a notion of conviction is achieved.
Socrates, a Greek philosopher, was given a death sentence for preaching to the society about monotheism. He was not acknowledging the Gods that his city acknowledges. Youth was getting connected to his idea of monotheism. While he was in jail Plato, one of his disciples made an arrangement for his escape but Socrates denied. He told Plato that if he runs away from the punishment, his body may live but his thoughts, ideas would die and if he accepts his punishment his body dies but his thoughts lives forever. And on the following day, was executed. He stood by his ideas though was not able to defend himself and his ideas continues to inspire the people of all times.
Some say that it is too late some give the excuse of not having the resources, some say that it is our destiny and what not. But it is never too late. Gandhi Ji and Godse, Lincoln and Booth were present at the same time but we remember them with different perception, with different motives, with different agenda and propaganda.
Raja Ram Mohan Roy stood up against the Sati practice, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar propagated the idea of Widow re-marriage. Whole of the society stood against them but they were adamant on their agenda. They were determined to bring a societal change that would change the face of the future.
Who does not love fighters?? Everyone I guess.
Everybody think that the fighters are persons of great esteem and are courageous enough to make such a decision. But the question is how many really want to see their child as fighters. They want a whistleblower, of course, but he should not be from their own kin.
It is really very important that people must understand what they really want and what best they can do to achieve it.
No change is immediate. But we must take a pride in standing against the wrong, maintaining the integrity of our position and wish that someday that goal is achieved.
Keep it up👍🏻
